Village Produce Show and a 2nd Place Win!!

Hi all, what a week its been!  Emily went back to school on Thursday and that hopefully means that life can get back to some sort of a routine - well hopefully anyway!!

Today in my little village of Aston Le Walls, they held a Produce Show where people in the village show their home grown vegetables, flowers, jams and cakes.  This year they also had a craft section - 6 different categories ranging from Crochet, Photography, Wood Carving and of course Hand Made Cards.  I couldn't let the opportunity pass me by, and entered a little handmade card of my own.

This is what I came up with:-

I used the lovely Stippled Blossoms Stamp Set from the Stampin Up Annual Catalogue, and picked out a card from the Color Coach which gave me the colours of Raspberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette and Old Olive. These are what I used as inspiration for my card.

The new little Candy Dots from the Annual Catalogue just add that little bit of colour where needed.

Judging took place on all of the entries at 2.30 this afternoon, and at around 5pm this evening an envelope was pushed through the door to say that id won 2nd place in category 39 - Handmade Cards.  I was absolutely thrilled with my placement, and of course the winnings which were the grand sum of 30p......well I do only live in a small village ;o)

Here is the Recipe:-
