Yesterday here in the UK was Mother's Day, and as usual, my Hubby was a bit of a waste of space when it comes to celebrating these things, but I have gotten used to it over the years ;o)
I don't ever get much thanks for being a Mom, but I am extremely grateful to be one, and count my lucky stars each and every day that I have my little Emily (and of course not forgetting my 2 boys, Jake and Milo lol).
No matter how poor Darren is at celebrating my day, I always make everyone in our family who are Mom's, feel very special! The Whittall clan spent the day at ours on Saturday, and I put together a lovely spread for all to enjoy. I even made some Gluten Free Cupcakes for Darren, which went down well with everyone.
I made each of the Mom's in the family a little gift, which was a bag of Thornton's Chocolates all packaged up nicely:-
By adding the stamped sentiment in the middle and a bit of ribbon, it made a simple idea which takes no more than 5 minutes to make, into a lovely little gift.
To cover these bags, I used an 8cm strip cut from a 12"x12" sheet of the Natural Composition Speciality DSP (126917) and then scored it on my new Stampin' Trimmer (129722) at 2cm, 14cm and 18.5cm. I just then folded all of the score lines around the package and punched two holes at the top with a Crop-a-dile, threaded through a length of Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon (122332) and just decorated the front.
I also made my lovely Mom a special card:-
Very simple again, but she really loved it!
Everyone had a lovely day, and it was so lovely to have all of the family together!!
Until next time.......
